AUBURN, N.H. - House Majority Leader Jason Osborne today announced five more public endorsements in his campaign for Speaker of the New Hampshire House. More than 125 sitting members and 2026 Republican candidates have now committed their support to Osborne for Speaker.
“New Hampshire Democrats at the DNC fought as hard to keep our primary first as they do pretending they do not want an income tax, which is to say, not that hard. Four votes out of forty-nine, and two of those came from their own delegation. This is what happens when petty agendas come before the team,” said Osborne.
“That is how quickly first place status can disappear, and it is not the only one we have to protect. Lowest child poverty in America. Best state in the country to raise a family. Freest state out of the fifty. We have much that we have claimed and even more that we will.
“New Hampshire does not keep its place by asking permission for it. We keep it by being the state everyone else has to explain themselves against. That takes a majority willing to move, willing to be bold, willing to work together as a team. We buried the interest and dividends tax, killed mandatory car inspections, handed voters a real tool to control their property taxes, strengthened our election laws, and gave parents real choices in how they educate their children.
“The rest of this summer and fall I’ll be with you in the districts that decide whether we get to keep expanding on our successes or spend two years merely trying to hold the line. Number one is not the finish line. We are just getting warmed up.”
